Based in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, KK Leaf Co., Ltd. operates at the intersection of scientific research and practical agricultural solutions. We’re not just cultivating healthier soil—we’re nurturing communities, preserving ecosystems, and securing our shared future by harnessing the power of soil microbiology.
Managing Japan’s largest peony garden, with over 60,000 pesticide-free plants, restoring natural biodiversity and promoting ecological harmony through enhanced microbial activity.
Cultivating nutrient-rich, sustainable produce including melons, sweet potatoes, corn, and tomatoes, supported by thriving microbial ecosystems.
Zucchini yields increased over 300%
Tomato yields increased up to 150%, with notable improvements in sugar content
Watermelon yields nearly tripled, achieving up to 200% of conventional methods.
Rice yields surged to 137% – 212% of conventional farming averages, with enhanced rice quality and flavor ratings
From Dr. Hiroichi Seki
With over three decades of frontline agricultural experience, Dr. Hiroichi Seki and our dedicated team have pioneered transformative solutions centered on microbiology, tackling complex agricultural challenges such as bacterial wilt and nematode infestations. Our proprietary enzyme-based fermentation technology rapidly rebalances soil microbiomes, creating healthier, more productive farmland in weeks rather than years.
Microbes Leading the Way
Our groundbreaking BioSpectrum Control™ technology meticulously nurtures beneficial soil microorganisms, fortifying the soil’s natural defenses and drastically improving plant health. By cultivating a robust microbial community, BSC enables crops to thrive, reduces chemical dependency, and significantly diminishes environmental harm.
Since 1989, our 100% organic garden has delighted guests with tree peonies (botan) and stem peonies (shakuyaku)—both flourishing under our unique composting and enzyme farming methods.
Since thoroughbreds use very little medicine in preparation for doping tests, the manure is considered to be high-quality organic matter, and a plan was put forward to turn it into branded compost and link it to the creation of local branded agricultural products.
In 2019, the compost was commercialized, sales began at home improvement centers, the number of compost houses was increased, and results and component analysis were also conducted.
For horse ranches, this solves the problem of horse manure disposal, and for farmers, it solves the problem of soil improvement and the creation of unique agricultural products.
